10th Anniversary Discovery Ball

Each
year the California Science Center presents a major black-tie
gala to commemorate the anniversary of its opening. On Saturday,
March 15, 2008, the Discovery Ball took on added significance
as the Science Center’s 10th
Anniversary celebration.
The 2008 Discovery Ball was another record-breaking success,
thanks in large measure to the tremendous leadership of Gala
Co-Chairs Alan J. Fohrer (Southern California Edison) and
Gregory L. Probert (Herbalife), who are pleased to report
over $1.3 million dollars were raised! Proceeds help the
Science Center to provide fun, memorable science learning
experiences for 1.4 million children and families every year.

Our 800 guests enjoyed a truly revealing evening, including
a sneak peek at the Phase II construction site featuring World
of Ecology, private viewing of the blockbuster exhibition Gunther
von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS 3 & The Story of the Heart:
The Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies,
an elegant three-course seated dinner and an after-hours
night club. Click

The gala has been dubbed “a virtual who’s who
of the Los Angeles business community” by the Los
Angeles Business Journal and named among Southern California’s
Top 100 Events by BizBash. Click
