The Brain and How Children Learn
October 4, 2008

Dr. Kenneth Wesson, VP of Delta Education and international educator and brain expert returns to enlighten participants about the latest developments in brain research! Participate in activities that will empower you to assist your child(ren) to learn! Experience and learn strategies that will stimulate the brain and promote student success! Receive materials to use at home with your children that will inspire active learning!

Science and the Home-School Connection

Science is not just a subject learned in school! This workshop will help parents develop the natural scientist in every child and explore and introduce participants to the science curriculum that is taught in school. Experience hands-on science activities, investigate ways to promote science learning by using common objects found around the house, and receive materials to use with your children that will help them succeed.

Toys That Teach
December 13, 2008

How do children learn best? When they are having fun! Come to a workshop that will demonstrate the connection between fun and learning. Experience a series of activities that highlight was use and make toys to teach Science and Math concepts. Receive materials to use at home with your children! Dr. Maisha Hazzard, Director of Strategic Development at Khepra International, returns as the keynote speaker for this workshop.
